Egypt’s IT Boom: Foreign Firms Fuel Job Growth and Digital Exports

Egypt is leveling up its tech game 🚀! What used to be a quiet desert business scene is now buzzing with global companies offshoring their IT and back-office operations. Young professionals are snapping up opportunities in customer service, software development, HR, and more.

In the past three years, tens of thousands of jobs have sprung up as foreign firms flock to Egypt’s strategic crossroads between East and West. Key growth drivers include:

  • Time-zone-friendly location for Europe and the Middle East 🌍
  • Large, multilingual talent pool with diverse skill sets 💬
  • Government incentives, favorable taxes, and low operational costs 💰

Deals announced recently could add another 75,000 jobs over the next three years, through 2028, as both newcomers and expanding investors double down on Egypt’s stable business climate. This boom aligns with Egypt’s Vision 2030, which puts digital exports at the heart of long-term growth. By 2025, offshoring revenues jumped from $2.4 billion in 2022 to $4.8 billion, now making up about 6% of GDP.

“Today we export not only products but also services,” says Iyad Hafez, CEO of Staff Arabia Group. “Hard currency from salaries and operations is flowing into Egypt, boosting the economy.”

While challenges remain—like improving internet speeds—the government is rolling out infrastructure upgrades and training programs to sharpen youth skills. With this momentum, Egypt’s IT sector is set to power the country’s next economic transformation. Stay tuned for the next level! ⚡️
