Kyrgyzstan Debuts at 8th CIIE, Showcases Silk Road Heritage

The 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) wrapped up in Shanghai this week, breaking records in scale and intended trade value. The national pavilion continues to be a vibrant stage where countries weave stories of culture and commerce.

In the Hall of the National Exhibition and Convention Center, 67 countries and international organizations showcased a tapestry of cultures and trade offerings. This year, Kyrgyzstan joined the lineup for the first time, inviting guests to explore the grassland Silk Road through its intangible cultural heritage.

At the heart of Kyrgyzstan’s booth stood a striking red dome inspired by traditional yurts. Here, visitors sampled fragrant honey 🍯 and jams, felted wool blankets and sheepskin wares 🐑, plus herbal handmade soaps. Each product told a story of mountain meadows and nomadic traditions.

"The China International Import Expo plays a key role in strengthening the economic partnership between our two countries," said Tilek Zhumaliev, deputy director of the Export Development and Promotion Center from Kyrgyz Export. "Every year, participating in CIIE helps our businesses forge new partnerships, attract investment, and better understand the Chinese market. It also opens doors for cooperation in logistics, manufacturing, and e-commerce."

As an important corridor along the ancient Silk Road, Kyrgyzstan sees the CIIE as more than a trade fair—it’s a platform to boost agricultural exports, deepen ties with China, and share its vibrant cultural DNA with young audiences worldwide. Here’s to new partnerships and cross-border adventures! 🌍✨
