WEF Welcomes 12 New Global Lighthouse Sites, Six in the Chinese Mainland

Imagine the world’s most advanced factories shining like beacons of innovation 🚀. That’s exactly what the World Economic Forum’s Global Lighthouse Network is all about!

This year, the WEF added 12 new industrial sites to its lineup, bringing the total to 201. Launched in 2018, the network spotlights production facilities that excel in productivity, supply chain resilience, customer centricity, sustainability and talent development.

Hot scoop: Six of these newcomers are in the Chinese mainland—Eaton, Mettler Toledo, Tongwei, Yunnan Baiyao Group, Hisensehitachi and Haier Group. Haier is especially hyped, boasting 12 lighthouse factories overall and leading the pack in both scale and product variety.

The glow doesn’t stop there! Among the overseas picks, two are Chinese enterprises: Lenovo’s high-tech site in Monterrey, Mexico, and Midea’s hub in Si Racha, Thailand.

Fun fact: The Chinese mainland now accounts for over 40% of all 201 lighthouse sites worldwide. It’s like a mega constellation of industrial stars shining bright 🌟.

For young professionals, entrepreneurs and curious minds, these factories aren’t just about machines. They’re where AI meets sustainability and resilient supply chains keep everything running smoothly. Stay tuned as these lighthouses light the way to the future of industry! 💡
