China Leading the World in Renewable Energy Transition: IRENA Deputy Director 🌍⚡

In a world where the future is green, China is stepping up as a game-changer! 🌱💚 At the World Governments Summit in Dubai, Gauri Singh, Deputy Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), praised China's leading role in the global shift towards renewable energies.

\"China has always played a very important role in renewable energy,\" Singh told Xinhua on Monday, extending her warm wishes for the upcoming Chinese New Year, which falls on February 10. 🐉✨ \"The Year of the Dragon embodies the spirit of courage, vitality, and ambition. We all need to be ambitious in how we view our common future and the future of the planet,\" she added.

As a hub for manufacturing, China is driving down the costs of green transition technologies, making it easier for countries worldwide to advance their national plans. \"Thanks to China's role, a large number of countries were able to advance their national plans more smoothly,\" Singh emphasized.

According to IRENA's Renewable Capacity Statistics 2023, published last March, China accounted for about 48% of the increase in global total renewable capacity in 2022! 🚀 That's nearly half the world's growth in renewables coming from one country.

IRENA, boasting 169 members, is at the forefront of promoting renewable energy worldwide. They support countries in their energy transitions and provide up-to-date data and analyses on green tech innovation, policy, finance, and investment.

China's commitment to renewables is not just about numbers; it's about leading the charge toward a sustainable future for us all. 🌏✨ With the spirit of the Dragon inspiring courage and ambition, the journey towards a greener planet is more exciting than ever!
