Trump Orders Expansion of Guantanamo Bay to House 30,000 Migrants 🚧

In a move that's making waves 🌊, U.S. President Donald Trump announced plans to prepare a migrant detention facility at Guantanamo Bay for up to 30,000 migrants.

Speaking at the White House on Wednesday, Trump said, \"Today I'm also signing an executive order to instruct the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security to begin preparing the 30,000-person migrant facility at Guantanamo Bay.\"

The U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, already has a migrant facility separate from its high-security prison for terrorism suspects. It's been used before to house Haitians and Cubans picked up at sea.

Trump's border czar, Tom Homan, confirmed later on Wednesday that the administration plans to expand the existing facility and that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) would manage it. He stated that the center would be used for the \"worst of the worst.\"

\"Some of them are so bad we don't even trust the countries to hold them because we don't want them coming back, so we're going to send them out to Guantanamo,\" Trump added. \"This will double our capacity immediately, right? And, tough.\"

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, when asked about the funding required for the facility, said the administration is working with Congress through reconciliation and appropriations.

This bold move has sparked conversations nationwide, with many wondering what this means for immigration policies and the migrants affected. Stay tuned for more updates on this unfolding story!
