Brazil Recognizes Delcy Rodriguez as Venezuela’s Head of State

This weekend, on Saturday, January 3, Brazil’s interim Foreign Minister Maria Laura da Rocha announced that Brazil recognizes Venezuela’s Vice President Delcy Rodriguez as head of state in President Nicolas Maduro’s absence 🤝🇧🇷🇻🇪.

‘We will continue to support international law and all countries in safeguarding their sovereignty, opposing any form of territorial aggression,’ Maria Laura da Rocha said.

Also on Saturday, the Brazilian Foreign Ministry shared that President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva reiterated his previous position and condemned the U.S. attack on Venezuela, as well as the capture of Maduro and his wife.

Meanwhile, Defense Minister Jose Mucio reported that the situation in Roraima state, which borders Venezuela, remains stable. Brazil has deployed 10,000 military personnel in the Amazon region, with 2,300 stationed in Roraima 🛡️🚁.

This move highlights Brazil’s commitment to regional stability and respect for sovereignty on its northern border.
