Russia’s MoD Unveils Drone Debris Footage from Putin Residence Attack

On Wednesday, December 31, 2025, Russia's Ministry of Defense released a flight map and dramatic footage of the wreckage from drones (UAVs) used in an attempted strike on President Putin's official residence. 🎥❄️

The briefing showed black drone fragments, wooden structural pieces, and red wiring scattered across snowy fields at the interception sites. It feels like something straight out of a Mission: Impossible scene! 🕵️‍♂️

The map traces the drones' routes back to Ukraine's Sumy and Chernihiv regions, with some buzzing over the Bryansk, Smolensk, and Tver regions before being shot down. A few even skirted the Russia-Belarus border, flying through Bryansk and Smolensk, then edging near the Tver-Pskov border.

Interception points marked on the map reveal the drones were neutralized over the Bryansk, Smolensk, and Novgorod regions. The overnight attempt on the night of December 28–29 caused no damage to Russian territory and resulted in zero casualties.

As drone technology evolves, this incident highlights the growing role of unmanned systems in modern conflicts. Will we see more “sky wars” in 2026? 🚁🤔
