Cuba Denounces US ‘Terrorist’ Label on Venezuela

Earlier this week, US President Donald Trump announced that his government was designating the Venezuelan government as a “foreign terrorist organization.” The decision sparked strong reactions across the region, but few were as firm as Cuba’s.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla took to X on Saturday to blast the move as “arbitrary, fraudulent, unilateral and politically motivated.” He argued that using terrorism as a political weapon only undermines global efforts to fight it. 🚫🎯

Rodriguez warned that this decision aims to isolate Venezuela, ramp up pressure, and could spark unpredictable consequences for peace, security and stability in Latin America and the Caribbean. 🌎⚠️

In a show of solidarity, Cuba’s government stands with the people and government of Venezuela against what Rodriguez called “this infamous barbarism.” ✊🇨🇺🇻🇪

As tensions rise, the region watches closely to see how this designation will play out. Will other countries join Cuba in condemning the move? Or will Washington’s hardline approach reshape regional politics? Stay tuned. 👀
