In a dramatic turn of events, Cambodia’s Defense Ministry announced that Thailand’s military used two F-16 fighter jets to bomb locations in Pursat Province in the early hours of Saturday, December 13. 🛩️💥
According to the ministry’s press release, bombs were dropped at 5:50 and 5:55 a.m. on a hotel building in the Tmor Da area. Minutes later, at 6:02 and 6:07 a.m., two more bombs struck the Chei Chomnas bridge, followed by a final bomb at 6:12 a.m. that destroyed the old bridge at the same site.
'Thai forces have not stopped the bombing yet,' the statement said. As of now, there’s been no official response from the Thai side.
This incident comes days after border clashes reignited on December 7 between the two neighbors. On Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump shared on social media that he’d held calls with both leaders and that a ceasefire would kick in Friday evening — a truce that apparently didn’t hold.
The situation raises fresh concerns about stability in the region and the challenges of enforcing diplomatic agreements on the ground. 🤔 What will happen next? Stay tuned for updates on this dynamic story.
