Liu Shaoang Bags Two Silvers at ISU Short Track World Tour in Dordrecht

🥈🥈 What a weekend for Liu Shaoang! On Sunday, November 30, at Sport Boulevard Dordrecht in the Netherlands, the 27-year-old skater raced to two silver medals at the ISU Short Track World Tour. Fans got front-row drama in both the men's 1,000 m final and the 5,000 m relay!

In the 1,000 m final, Italy's Pietro Sighel grabbed the early lead, with Liu and the Republic of Korea's Rim Jong-un close behind. Liu pushed past Sighel on lap 7, only to be overtaken by Rim on the final stretch. Rim sealed gold in 1:25.877, with Liu clocking in at 1:26.023 for silver and Sighel taking bronze.

Later, Liu teamed up with his brother Liu Shaolin, Zhang Bohao and Lin Xiaojun for the men's 5,000 m relay. The race was neck-and-neck with Italy and the Netherlands until Lin surged in the last two laps, pushing the Chinese mainland squad to a 6:48.724 silver finish—just 0.045 seconds behind the Dutch champions.

With this performance, the Chinese mainland's short track speed skating team has now clinched full quotas for all nine events at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics. Plus, Canada’s Steven Dubois and Kim Boutin took home the Crystal Globe trophies for topping the individual World Cup standings.

On to Milano and Cortina! Can Liu keep the momentum rolling into next season? 🌟
