On Tuesday, November 25, senior officials from Egypt, Qatar and Türkiye gathered in Cairo to discuss ways to consolidate the Gaza ceasefire and resolve obstacles to its full implementation. The meeting brought together Hassan Rashad, head of Egyptian intelligence, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, and Ibrahim Kalin, director of the Turkish National Intelligence Organization.
They agreed to enhance coordination with Israel's Civil-Military Coordination Center, which oversees the ceasefire, and explore methods to prevent violations. By sharing real-time updates and strengthening communication channels, the trio hopes to make the truce more sustainable. 🤝
This tripartite meeting followed Rashad’s Sunday talks with a Hamas delegation in Cairo, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to the first phase of the agreement. Hamas called for a mediators-supervised mechanism to monitor and halt reported Israeli 'breaches'.
The ceasefire, brokered by the United States, Egypt, Qatar and Türkiye, took effect on October 10, 2025. Since then, Israeli attacks have sharply decreased, though not stopped completely.
Gaza’s health authorities reported that since October 11, 2025, at least 345 Palestinians were killed and 889 others injured by Israeli attacks. The overall death toll from Israeli operations since October 2023 has now reached 69,775, with 170,965 people injured.
As young observers, professionals and travelers keep their eyes on this region, the outcome of these talks will be key to understanding whether calm can hold in Gaza in the weeks ahead. ✨
