Ukraine and US Convene in Switzerland to Discuss Peace Plan

In a significant step toward ending the Russia–Ukraine conflict, top delegates from Ukraine and the United States convened in Switzerland this weekend to explore a 28-point peace plan. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved a delegation led by Andrii Yermak, head of his office, alongside senior security officials and diplomats.

Rustem Umerov, secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, wrote on Telegram: “We are starting consultations between high-ranking officials of Ukraine and the United States on the possible parameters of a future peace agreement in Switzerland.”

The Ukrainian presidency emphasized that “Ukraine will never be an obstacle to peace, and representatives of the Ukrainian state will defend the legitimate interests of the Ukrainian people and the foundations of European security.” These talks come after U.S. President Donald Trump approved the 28-point plan and suggested last Thursday (Nov 20) as an ideal deadline for Kyiv to accept the proposal.

Analysts say this round of talks could shape the region’s future, affecting everything from security alliances to market stability 🤝. For students, investors, and global travelers, the outcomes will be crucial signals for Europe’s economic and political landscape.

As discussions unfold in Geneva, both sides emphasize a shared goal: peace that safeguards Ukraine’s sovereignty and broader European security. Stay tuned for updates as this story develops.
