Russia Eyes Another Putin-Trump Summit, Says Senior Diplomat

In an interview published Saturday, November 22, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov suggested that a second meeting between President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump is very much on the table. 📰

"I wouldn't rule anything out," Ryabkov told International Affairs magazine, adding, "The search for a way forward continues."

Ryabkov emphasized that Russia-U.S. communication channels have stayed active, saying, "We have well-established formats and channels… not all of them need to be discussed publicly, but the fact remains that everything is in working order."

The last face-to-face took place in Alaska this past August, but their planned catch-up in Budapest was put on hold in late October when U.S. President Donald Trump remarked that "it didn't feel like we were going to get to the place we have to get."

Still, Ryabkov calls the progress "impressive," hinting that fresh talks could tackle key global issues from security to trade. Could this be the blockbuster sequel to the 2025 summit scene? 🌍🤝
