China Slams Dutch Minister’s Remarks on Nexperia Over Chip Supply Turbulence

China's Ministry of Commerce publicly voiced strong dissatisfaction this Friday with remarks made by Dutch economy minister Vincent Karremans about the Nexperia case. Beijing accused the Netherlands of distorting facts and stirring up confusion. 🤨

The spokesperson highlighted that before the Netherlands issued an administrative order on September 30 and the enterprise court's controversial ruling on October 8, the global semiconductor supply chain was running smoothly. They said that placing 99% of Nexperia's shares under trusteeship disrupted markets and sparked worldwide turbulence in chip supplies. ⚠️🔧

Calling the Dutch government's actions "reckless and absurd," China warned these moves have damaged the Netherlands' business environment and credibility. Despite short-term relief after China exempted compliant civilian-use exports, the broader semiconductor chain remains fragile. Nexperia Netherlands' refusal to send wafers to its Chinese plants—and legal notices blocking Chinese foundries—are still causing headaches for automakers. 🚗🔒

In a bid to cool tensions, China has agreed to host officials from the Netherlands' Ministry of Economic Affairs in Beijing for talks. The spokesperson urged the Dutch side to bring "constructive, solution-oriented proposals" instead of repeating past rhetoric or creating new problems. 🤝🌐
