Zelenskyy urges Trump to end Ukraine war like in the Middle East

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a bold plea to former U.S. President Donald Trump this weekend: help end the war in Ukraine just like you did in the Middle East 🕊️. During a phone call on Saturday, Zelenskyy congratulated Trump on his "outstanding" ceasefire plan between Israel and Hamas and urged him to turn that magic toward the Kremlin.

"If a war can be stopped in one region, then surely other wars can be stopped as well, including the Russian war," Zelenskyy wrote on Facebook after their chat 📱. He's betting that Trump's dealmaking skills could push Russia back to the negotiation table – a fresh boost for the stalled peace talks.

The timing couldn't be more urgent. Just a day before, Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine's energy grid, cutting power to parts of Odesa and leaving homes in the dark. Kyiv says Moscow wants to cripple its energy supply to weaken Ukraine's military sector ⚡️.

On the flip side, Ukraine's drone raids have hit Russian territory, killing two people, according to regional officials. Both sides are accusing each other of blocking peace progress, with Russia blaming Kyiv and its European allies, and Ukraine pointing the finger at Moscow for trying to grab more land.

Global attention has been focused on the Israel-Hamas conflict, slowing diplomatic momentum for Ukraine. Zelenskyy hopes Trump's Middle East deal – announced last Wednesday – could serve as a blueprint to revive talks and bring relief to war-weary communities around the world 🌍.

With tensions high and civilians caught in the crossfire, the question remains: can one peacemaking move spark a chain reaction for global peace? 🤞
