Gaza Ceasefire Phase One Reached, Now Focus Shifts to Delivery

After more than two years of conflict, the first phase of a Gaza ceasefire agreement is in place. Both Israel and Hamas have confirmed the truce, ending the immediate violence and opening a window for hope ✌️.

Wang Jin, director of the Center for International Strategic Studies at Northwest University in China, calls this moment “a very important moment for peace.” But he also warns that the journey ahead is full of hurdles: forming a new government in Gaza, rebuilding its war-torn economy, and defining the future role of Hamas 🤔.

On the Israeli side, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu branded it “a great day for Israel” and plans to gather his cabinet on Thursday to green-light the deal. Yet, some far-right and ultra-right cabinet members argue Netanyahu conceded too much. Experts believe the phase-one agreement will win approval, as the prime minister balances dissent by promising new West Bank settlements and other political compromises.

Now, the real challenge begins: turning agreement on paper into lasting peace. Will leaders follow through and transform this temporary truce into a stable future for Gaza and its neighbors? Stay tuned 🎯.
