A car plowed into a group of people, and the attacker moved on to stabbing those trying to reach safety. Two people were killed and three others wounded in what police have declared a 'terrorist incident'. 😔
Officers rushed to the scene and shot the attacker, identified as Jihad al-Shamie, who later died. In a heartbreaking turn, a pathologist says one of the victims may have been hit by police gunfire, and another injured person also suffered a gunshot wound. Thankfully, that patient is not in life-threatening condition.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer, joined by his wife Victoria, visited the site to offer support and vowed to boost security at synagogues across the UK. Security at Jewish communities will be heightened nationwide to ensure worshippers can gather safely.
