📢 Tensions on the Korean Peninsula are rising as the DPRK has slammed upcoming military exercises by the United States, South Korea, and Japan.
The ROK will kick off two drills this Monday: Freedom Edge, an outdoor, multi-domain exercise with the US and Japan, and Iron Mace, a tabletop drill simulating a nuclear-attack response with Washington. 🇺🇸🇰🇷🇯🇵
Kim Yo Jong, vice department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, blasted the Guidelines for Nuclear Deterrence and Nuclear Operations on the Korean Peninsula as a dangerous idea. She warned it’s an unfiltered display of anti-DPRK aggression and a succession of hostile policy.
Pak Jong Chon, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK, described Iron Mace as a nuclear war rehearsal aimed at using nuclear weapons against the DPRK from A to Z and called Freedom Edge the most comprehensive, offensive war drill in scale and nature. He said these moves threaten the DPRK’s security and risk destabilizing the entire region. 🌏⚠️
Pak added a sharp warning that if these military shows of strength continue, the DPRK will launch counteraction in a clear and intensified way. 🔒🛡️
As tensions simmer, all eyes will be on Monday’s drills to see whether this standoff sparks a new chapter in regional conflict or pushes for fresh talks. 🌐
