Danish PM Frederiksen Calls U.S. Interference in Greenland ‘Unacceptable’

Imagine Denmark’s PM dropping the mic 🎤🥶: Mette Frederiksen has called out alleged U.S. covert ops in Greenland as “unacceptable.”

According to Danish broadcaster DR, at least three American citizens tied to the White House have been quietly building private networks in Greenland. They’ve allegedly been making lists of local figures based on their stance toward U.S. control of the Arctic island 🗺️❄️.

Frederiksen didn’t hold back: Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark, and any meddling in its democracy is off-limits. She stressed her government is taking the situation very seriously.

What’s more, the U.S. side hasn’t officially denied the reports. “I take note that the Americans have not clearly rejected what has been reported today. That is, of course, serious,” the PM said.

She even raised the issue with U.S. senators alongside Greenland Foreign Minister Vivian Motzfeldt, making it crystal clear: hands off! 🤝🚫

The Danish Foreign Ministry also called in the U.S. charge d’affaires for a serious chat. Diplomacy level: max.

Why the drama? Since early 2025, President Trump has publicly eyed Greenland, even mentioning possible military or economic coercion to secure the island. Cue the plot twists! 🎬🌍

Denmark’s Security and Intelligence Service warns Greenland has become a target for influence campaigns aiming to drive a wedge between Copenhagen and Nuuk.

For context, Greenland joined the Kingdom of Denmark as an integral part in 1953, earned home rule in 1979, and today handles its own affairs—while Denmark still oversees defense and foreign relations.

The Arctic stage is heating up, and Greenland’s sovereignty is center stage. Stay tuned for more twists in this geopolitical saga! 🔥🧊
