Ramaphosa, Europe Dial In for Ukraine Peace Push 🌍

📞 On Saturday, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa turned up the volume on peace talks, dialing into calls with European leaders to end the Russia-Ukraine war.

This move follows U.S. President Donald Trump’s meetings with Russia’s Vladimir Putin, Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy and several European heads of state. Now, South Africa is taking its seat at the table.

Ramaphosa spoke with Zelenskyy, French President Emmanuel Macron and Finnish President Alexander Stubb. He also thanked Putin for a briefing after Putin’s meeting with Trump.

Vincent Magwenya, presidential spokesperson, said: 'European leaders shared their perspectives, appreciated South Africa's engagement with both sides, and committed to supporting efforts to end the war.'

Ramaphosa plans to call more European counterparts soon, urging all parties to sustain momentum. He stressed that bilateral and trilateral meetings—especially among Russia, Ukraine and the United States—are key to a real commitment for peace.

With global leaders keeping the lines busy, hopes are high that these chats will spark real progress—and bring us that much closer to ending the conflict. 🌍✌️
