In the heart of Gaza City, the roar of airstrikes and ground assaults continues to ring out as residents face a dire humanitarian crisis 💥😔.
On Sunday, Defense Minister Israel Katz declared, "The IDF is acting and will continue to act with full force to defeat Hamas, to secure the release of all the hostages, and to bring the war to an end under the conditions set by Israel."
Plans for the Gaza City offensive were approved last Friday, with Katz warning that the city may be razed unless Hamas meets Israel's terms: freeing all hostages and accepting Israel's permanent security control over the enclave.
The Israeli military has also widened its operations in the Jabaliya area of the northern Gaza Strip. According to an army statement, troops are "dismantling terrorist infrastructure above and below ground, eliminating militants, and strengthening operational control" to prevent fighters from regrouping.
Amid the military push, Gaza's health authorities reported at least eight starvation-related deaths in the past 24 hours, including one child. Since March, famine has claimed 281 lives in the territory, among them 114 children 💔.
Overall, more than 62,000 people in Gaza have been killed by Israeli air strikes and shootings since October 2023, according to local health data.
As the offensive intensifies and food supplies dwindle, the crisis in Gaza City deepens, raising urgent questions about relief and the path to peace 🌍.
