South Korean President Lee Jae-myung’s First Official Visit to Japan

Imagine two tech-savvy leaders leveling up Asia’s future: South Korean President Lee Jae-myung jetted into Japan this weekend to meet Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. 🤝

In their first face-to-face since Lee took office in June, the duo agreed to steadily advance bilateral relations. They’re set to bolster strategic communication in security, team up in emerging fields like hydrogen energy and artificial intelligence, and create an intergovernmental framework to tackle shared challenges—from regional revitalization and aging populations to disaster prevention.

They also pledged to broaden the working holiday visa program to spark more people-to-people exchanges. 🌏✈️

This trip marks Lee’s first visit to Japan as president. Next stop: the United States, where he’ll meet U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday. Stay tuned! 🇺🇸
