Abu Dhabi buzzed with stories of peace and unity last Thursday as China Media Group (CMG) teamed up with the Chinese Embassy in the UAE to host "Echoes of Peace" 📣.
Streaming live from Beijing, CMG president Shen Haixiong reminded guests that 2024 marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. "History is the best textbook," he said, urging the world to learn from the past to safeguard peace and fairness 🤝.
China's Ambassador to the UAE, Zhang Yiming, echoed this call, emphasizing the UN's role in a fair global order. With the "Year of China" in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in full swing, Zhang invited all SCO members to push multilateralism into action, aiming for a just, people-centered future 🌐✨.
The event drew media pros, think tank experts and students from across the Middle East, all sharing a passion for cultural bridges and peaceful ties. Mohamed Firas Alnaeb, president of Dubai’s Strategia Center for Studies, praised China and the UAE as post–World War II champions of global stability and growth.
To top it all off, attendees enjoyed several Chinese films and documentaries produced by CMG and CGTN, all themed around the value of peace and our collective duty to protect it 🎬🕊️. From the big screen to real-world dialogues, "Echoes of Peace" proved that when culture meets purpose, the future looks brighter.
