South Korea to Phase in Inter-Korean Agreements for Gradual Peace

In a fresh move to turn small steps into lasting progress, the ROK’s President Lee Jae-myung has ordered a step-by-step rollout 📈 of existing inter-Korean agreements with the DPRK.

During a recent cabinet meeting, he urged relevant ministries to focus on quick wins—simple actions that can be put into practice today to restore trust and ease tensions on the Korean Peninsula.

Lee likened these actions to pebbles building a pathway that will widen the road to peace and strengthen mutual trust 🤝.

This push follows his Liberation Day promise to steadily reduce tensions and revive the 2018 September 19 military agreement, designed to prevent accidental clashes and build military confidence between the two sides.

By phasing in these agreements, Seoul aims to balance ironclad preparedness with genuine outreach, signaling a new chapter of dialogue and cooperation 🎯.
