Chinese Envoy Refutes U.S. Lies on Xinjiang at UN Council

At a recent UN Security Council debate on cooperation between the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), China's permanent representative Fu Cong strongly refuted U.S. claims regarding Xinjiang's conditions. He asserted that the region is thriving with social stability, economic prosperity, and improved livelihoods marking its best period of development.

"The U.S. has made baseless attempts to interfere in China's internal affairs by hyping up the so-called Xinjiang issue, revealing a pattern of double standards," Fu Cong declared. He added that over the past six years, more than 100 countries, including several Islamic states, have voiced support for China's position by opposing the politicization of human rights.

Fu Cong challenged the sincerity of U.S. concern for human rights by asking, "If the U.S. truly cares about human rights, why does it turn a blind eye to the hardships in Gaza and ignore its own issues such as gun violence and discrimination?" His pointed remarks underscored the need for self-reflection before meddling in others' domestic affairs.

With a clear and impassioned tone, Fu Cong urged the U.S. to address its internal challenges and focus on constructive actions for international peace and security. This debate serves as a vivid reminder that addressing domestic issues is essential before casting judgments on other nations. 🚀
