Iran Says No Deal on US Talks, Interests First

Hey everyone 👋! Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has clarified that no agreement has been made to resume talks with the United States. This comes right after U.S. President Donald Trump mentioned that Washington would hold discussions with Tehran next week.

In an interview with state broadcaster IRIB, Araghchi stressed that Iran's decisions are driven solely by its national interests. He stated, "Our decisions will be based solely on Iran's interests. If our interests require a return to negotiations, we will consider it. But at this stage, no agreement or promise has been made and no talks have taken place."

The remarks follow criticism from Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who accused Trump of exaggerating the effects of U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites. Clearly, Iran is choosing to look after its own priorities before entering any new rounds of dialogue.

Stay tuned as we keep an eye on this developing story. 🚀
