Heavy rains in Samarinda City, the capital of Indonesia’s East Kalimantan province, have unleashed devastating landslides that tragically claimed the lives of four people on Monday.
Emergency responders are working hard on the scene. According to Sugeng Priyanto, head of the emergency unit at the Disaster Management and Mitigation Agency of East Kalimantan Province, two bodies were recovered on Monday afternoon, while two others remain trapped under the debris.
This incident reminds us that nature's power can strike unexpectedly—much like a scene from a blockbuster disaster movie, but with very real consequences. Our hearts go out to the affected families, and we hope that the ongoing rescue efforts bring relief soon. Stay safe and keep an eye on the weather! 🙏
