A devastating wave of violence has struck southwestern Sudan. Over the past two days, the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) attacked the city of Al-Nuhood in West Kordofan State, leaving more than 300 people dead. 😥
The Sudanese Foreign Ministry stated that the attacks were carried out as "crimes against humanity" with an ethnic bias. This intense outburst of violence has prompted the ministry to call on the United Nations Security Council and other international bodies to take a firm stand against what it describes as leniency towards the RSF's actions.
To date, the RSF has not responded to these serious allegations. Families and communities are left grappling with the tragic loss, while the international community watches closely, calling for accountability and the restoration of safety in the region.
Stay tuned for more updates as the situation continues to develop.
