\"There are around 100 dead,\" a doctor at the local hospital told AFP anonymously, noting that the hospital and morgue were overflowing with victims. Another medical professional confirmed there were \"dozens of dead.\"
Tensions escalated when angry fans began throwing stones in protest of the penalty decision. Security forces attempted to restore order using tear gas, but the situation spiraled further out of control. \"This angered supporters who threw stones. This is how the security services used tear gas,\" reported local media.
