Experts Applaud President Xi’s Global Development Pledge at G20 Summit 🌐

🌍 In an inspiring move at the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro, Chinese President Xi Jinping unveiled a bold plan to boost global development, sparking applause from experts around the world. Calling for more \"bridges of cooperation\" and fewer \"small yards with high fences,\" President Xi's commitment aims to support the modernization of developing nations and foster a fair world of shared progress.

During the summit's first session, President Xi announced eight major actions to reinforce global development. These initiatives emphasize unity over division, echoing the global community's need for collaboration. At the second session, he presented a five-point proposal to enhance global governance, highlighting the importance of building international consensus for a multipolar world and inclusive economic globalization.

Sourabh Gupta, a senior fellow at the Washington-based Institute for China-America Studies, was impressed by President Xi's emphasis on cooperation. \"It's easy to say that poverty alleviation is the top priority, but it's not easy to provide the work with resources in an effective and efficient way,\" Gupta noted. \"I think China has done that.\" 👍

Wirun Phichaiwongphakdee, director of the Thailand-China Research Center of the Belt and Road Initiative, praised the announcement as a testament to China's leadership. He mentioned that the Belt and Road Initiative has brought unprecedented connectivity, turning the idea of common development into reality.

Mohammed Al-Bishi, acting editor-in-chief of Saudi business newspaper Aleqtisadiah, pointed out that President Xi's speeches once again showcased China's commitment to aiding less developed countries. \"When China commits to something, it makes it easy for other countries to do it,\" he said, highlighting the ripple effect of such initiatives.

A significant portion of President Xi's pledge focuses on Africa. He reaffirmed China's promise to assist with the continent's development, including a funding commitment of 360 billion yuan for modernization partnerships. Dr. Matthew L. Bishop from the University of Sheffield emphasized the importance of China's longstanding ties with African nations, noting that these investments are transforming local economies. 💡

Xu Feibiao, director at the Center for BRICS and G20 Studies, highlighted that the eight major actions will bring tangible benefits to Africa. Beyond financial and technological support, these actions aim to promote modernization by sharing China's experiences and involving Africa in its progress.

Wang Yiwei, a professor at Renmin University of China, stated that President Xi's speeches demonstrate China's solidarity with Africa in its development journey. He believes that bringing attention to Africa at the G20 summit helps the world focus on the continent's potential, transforming it from a so-called backward region into one filled with hope and opportunity. ✨
