Prabowo Sworn In as Indonesia's New President, Vows Bold Changes

✨ Indonesia enters a new chapter as former General Prabowo Subianto, 73, takes the oath as the country's new president! 🇮🇩 Amid cheers and high hopes, Prabowo promised to serve all Indonesians and tackle the nation's challenges head-on.

\"I swear that I will fulfill the duties of the president of the Republic of Indonesia as best as possible and as fair as possible,\" Prabowo declared during the inauguration ceremony in Parliament.

He succeeds Joko Widodo, popularly known as Jokowi, who led the nation for a decade. Before heading to the presidential palace for the official handover, Prabowo addressed lawmakers with a passionate speech.

\"Do we realize that our people and our children are malnourished? So many of our people don't have good jobs. So many of our schools are neglected,\" he said, highlighting the pressing issues facing Indonesia. \"We have to be courageous in looking at all of this, and we have to be courageous in solving these problems!\" he urged.

Despite previous unsuccessful runs for the presidency, Prabowo's landslide victory in the February election shows the nation's trust in his vision. His bold campaign promises, including a $28 billion free meal plan for children, struck a chord with voters.

🌏 On the international front, Prabowo is set to make Indonesia's voice heard louder on the global stage. He has committed to the country's non-aligned foreign policy but has shown signs of a more assertive approach. His first foreign visit after the election was to the Chinese mainland, followed by trips to Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Australia, where he signed a key security deal.

With Southeast Asia's largest economy and the world's largest nickel reserves under his leadership, Prabowo aims to harness the potential of a young population—about half of Indonesia's 280 million people are under 30! 🚀

Security was tight in Jakarta during the inauguration, with around 100,000 police and army personnel on duty, including riot squads and anti-drone teams, ensuring the event went smoothly.

Indonesia and the world now watch as Prabowo embarks on his presidency, hopeful for the bold changes he has promised. 💪✨
