UN Commission Accuses Israel of Targeting Gaza Healthcare Facilities

The United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry has raised serious concerns over Israel's recent actions in Gaza. According to the commission's latest report released on Thursday, Israel is allegedly targeting health facilities and medical personnel in the region.

\"Israel has implemented policies that appear to aim at dismantling Gaza's healthcare system as part of a broader offensive,\" the commission stated. It further accused Israel of \"relentless and deliberate attacks on medical personnel and facilities.\" 🏥🚑

Established by the UN Human Rights Council in May 2021, the three-person commission is tasked with investigating alleged violations of international law in Israel and the Palestinian territories. This marks their second report since the conflict escalated following Hamas's attack on October 7 last year.

The report also highlights concerns over the treatment of Palestinian detainees in Israel and hostages in Gaza, accusing both Israeli forces and Palestinian armed groups of \"torture\" and sexual and gender-based violence.

Israel has dismissed the commission's findings, accusing it of \"systematic anti-Israeli discrimination.\" Officials have previously rejected similar reports, including one in June that accused Israel of severe violations.

This unfolding situation continues to draw international attention, sparking debates on human rights and the protection of medical services in conflict zones. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story. 🌍🕊️
