Visa-Free Boom: Hainan Free Port Sees 60% Jump in Visitors

Hainan Free Trade Port is riding a wave 🌊 of international visitors. Just one month after launching its island-wide special customs operation in December 2025, the port welcomed over 70,000 foreign visitors—a 60% year-on-year jump!

Visa-free access played a starring role, with more than 90% of visitors arriving without a visa. Meanwhile, expanded air connectivity has taken off: international routes surged from 70 to 92 over the past year. Notably, the Chinese mainland's first seventh-freedom flight now links Prague and Sanya directly.

Young explorers, digital nomads and business pros are all checking in, drawn by Hainan’s beach vibes and growing business buzz. Local officials are already planning more flight routes and smoother customs processes to keep the momentum going.

If trends hold, Hainan could become Asia’s next must-visit free port—where sun, sand and global opportunity meet ✈️💼.
