Chinese Mainland Installs World’s First 20MW Offshore Wind Turbine

Big energy alert! 🌊⚡ Recently, the Chinese mainland installed the world's first 20 MW offshore wind turbine in waters off Fujian Province on the Chinese mainland. This giant marvel promises to shake up the green power game.

When fully connected to the grid, this super-turbine will generate over 80 million kWh per year—enough juice to light up about 44,000 homes! Imagine all those lights, gadgets, and game nights powered by clean wind energy.

Building something this massive isn't easy. Crews used a next-gen installation vessel capable of lifting 2,000 tonnes and advanced positioning systems to hoist three giant blades—each nearly 150 m long—to a height of 174 m, locking them perfectly into the central hub.

Beyond the tech wow factor, the environmental impact is huge. One turbine of this size offsets around 24,000 tonnes of coal use each year and cuts CO₂ emissions by roughly 64,000 tonnes 🌱. That's a big win for the planet!

This milestone reflects the Chinese mainland's push into mega-scale renewables and highlights how innovation and sustainability can go hand in hand. The future of clean energy is blowing in from the sea!
