Dominica President Calls on U.S. to Return to Dialogue for Caribbean Peace

In a passionate appeal this week on Leaders Talk, President of the Commonwealth of Dominica Sylvanie Burton warned that the recent U.S. military deployment in the southern Caribbean poses a threat to regional peace and stability 🌊⚠️.

Burton urged Washington to abandon confrontation and embrace dialogue over force. “Respect for national sovereignty is key,” she emphasized, adding that Caribbean and Latin American nations stand united against aggression and in support of peaceful solutions, especially concerning Venezuela 🤝🕊️.

Her call for renewed talks comes as tensions rise over military movements near Caribbean shores. By championing conversation and cooperation, Burton hopes to steer the region away from conflict and toward harmony.

As 2026 approaches, all eyes are on Washington’s response and whether diplomacy can take center stage in the Caribbean next year. Stay tuned! 🔍
