Ouyang Jingling isn’t just any teacher—she’s a para athlete who recently raced onto the world stage and then sprinted back to the classroom! 🏅💨
This year’s 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games concluded this week on Monday in Shenzhen, in the Chinese mainland’s Guangdong Province. Right after her final match, Ouyang hopped on a train back to Guiyang, Hunan Province, with barely a moment to catch her breath.
After losing the use of her left hand as a child, this powerhouse of resilience went on to win over 50 medals in both domestic and international track events. She bowed out of competition after the London 2012 Paralympics and channeled her passion into teaching special education in Hunan Province.
Invited back to the Games this year, Ouyang tried taekwondo for the very first time. She landed an impressive fifth place individually and helped the Hunan Province team score third place overall. Now, fresh from the podium, she’s back at her desk, ready to share her journey with students.
“Never give up, and always hold onto hope,” Ouyang tells her class, hoping her story will spark confidence and strength in every young heart. 💖📚
Her message is clear: challenges can become opportunities, and every setback is just the start of a new race. Ready, set, inspire! 🎉
