China Proposes Deeper Ties with Middle East

Fresh off his whirlwind tour of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Jordan from December 12 to 16, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is charting a bold new course for China's partnership with Middle Eastern countries. 🤝

At the heart of Wang's message is the alignment of China's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) with each nation's development vision. From innovation-driven growth and finance to energy trade and cultural exchanges, he emphasized a 'win-win' approach that deepens ties across traditional and frontier sectors.

Guided by the Global Security Initiative put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping, China plans to champion the independent choices of Middle Eastern people, support regional concerns, and encourage peaceful dialogue to resolve disputes. 🌍🕊

Wang highlighted the importance of major powers working together to back sustainable development, help resolve long-standing conflicts, and strengthen unity for lasting stability in the region. He believes this solidarity can pave the way for real progress on tough issues.

On the Palestinian question, Wang reiterated China's support for the two-state solution. He stressed that any plans for Gaza's future must respect the will of Palestine's residents and ensure Palestinians govern Palestine. China will push for global responsibility to ease the humanitarian crisis and keep peace talks on track.

Wang also thanked the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Jordan for standing firm on the one-China principle, praising their support for China's sovereignty and the peaceful pursuit of national reunification. This mutual backing, he said, is the bedrock of strong Sino-Arab friendship.

Looking ahead, the second China-Arab States Summit in 2026 will be a high-stakes moment to elevate strategic trust. Wang plans to leverage head-of-state diplomacy, drive forward high-quality Belt and Road Initiative projects, and foster civilizational exchange through shared human values. 🔗🌐

Finally, Wang reaffirmed China's commitment to multilateralism and a global governance model based on consultation, contribution and shared benefits. With these principles, China aims to shape a more just and equitable international order. ✨

As 2025 draws to a close, Wang Yi's vision sets the stage for an upgraded China–Middle East partnership—one poised to spark innovation, growth and peace across two dynamic regions. 🚀
