Russia has kicked off its first forest-climate project in the Arctic region! 🌲❄️
The Project Office for Arctic Development (PORA) announced on Tuesday that this initiative spans 20,700 hectares in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. Its mission is to restore and reproduce forest ecosystems in this icy landscape.
In addition to reforestation, the project will establish a natural and climatic testing ground and strengthen carbon monitoring capacity in the Arctic.
For young news enthusiasts, entrepreneurs exploring green markets, students and researchers studying climate trends, and adventurous travelers, this landmark effort opens a window into environmental innovation at the top of the world! 🚀
