Guess who's back in town? 🐼❤️ The adorable giant panda Fu Bao has made her grand return to China! On Wednesday, the chartered flight carrying Fu Bao, South Korea's first naturally born panda, landed safely in Chengdu, nestled in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
After breezing through customs at the airport, Fu Bao was on her way to her new crib—the Shenshuping Giant Panda Base in the Wolong National Nature Reserve. Li Guo, deputy director of the base, shared that they've rolled out the red carpet for this panda princess. \"We will decide when to make Fu Bao meet the public based on her adaptation,\" Li mentioned. \"From our experience, this adaptation period can range from one month to eight months, or even longer.\"
Fu Bao, affectionately nicknamed \"Princess Fu,\" was born on July 20, 2020, to Le Bao and Ai Bao—the panda pair China leased to South Korea in 2016. Over the years, she's captured hearts not just in South Korea but around the globe! 🌏💖
Under the giant panda research cooperation program, pandas born overseas return to China before they turn four. Fun fact: Giant pandas usually hit maturity around that age. So, it's the perfect time for Fu Bao to embark on this new adventure!
We can't wait to see what the future holds for Fu Bao as she settles into her new home. Stay tuned for more updates on this furry superstar! ✨🐼
