This past Friday, Qufu City in east China's Shandong Province hosted the 4th CMG Forum, where culture meets cutting‐edge technology. Under the inspiring theme "Exchange, Mutual Learning, Technology Empowerment: The Power of Civilization in Transformation and Development," the event set the stage for a vibrant dialogue on how ancient heritage can fuel modern innovation 🚀.
Jointly organized by CMG and the Shandong Provincial People’s Government, the forum welcomed around 300 guests from 95 countries and regions. Among the participants were political figures, leaders of international organizations, heads of mainstream media, diplomats, experts, and scholars—all gathering both online and offline to share ideas and spark new collaborations.
Key highlights included the launch of the 2025 global tour for the cultural program "China Through Its Intangible Heritage" and the unveiling of several international co-production projects focused on cultural exchange. In addition, research reports such as "Civilizational Exchanges and Media Empowerment: Pioneering Practices in the Integration of Culture and Tourism" underscored the depth of discussions.
On the same day, the event also kicked off the CMG news gathering initiative "China Up Close, Shandong Tour." Media professionals from around the world will explore Shandong’s cities—including Jining, Qingdao, and Yantai—uncovering the rich historical roots and contemporary innovations of Qilu culture, which blend the charm of ancient traditions with modern creativity 🎶.
Looking ahead, the forum extended invitations to global participants for the 11th Nishan Forum on World Civilizations, to be held in Qufu, the birthplace of the renowned philosopher Confucius. This continued engagement highlights the commitment to building an open, inclusive international communication ecosystem where cultural exchange and technology work hand in hand for global progress.
