With a whopping maximum water-carrying capacity of 6 tonnes and the ability to haul up to 3.7 tonnes of cargo, the MA60 is a beast in the best way possible. Plus, it can carry up to 28 people onboard, making it a versatile ally in emergency situations.
Part of the homegrown MA60 \"Modern Ark\" multipurpose aircraft family, this firefighting variant has secured its supplemental type certificate from the Civil Aviation Administration of China. Started in 2021, its development saw breakthroughs in numerous core technologies, according to Miao Zhimin, the chief designer of the aircraft.
\"Looking ahead, the MA60 firefighting aircraft will be a critical force in aerial emergency response,\" said Miao. \"It will play an important role in forest and grassland fire prevention and fighting, and in transporting personnel and supplies.\"
