Transitioning to clean energy? You can't skip China, says Siemens Energy CEO Christian Bruch.
Speaking to reporters this week, Bruch emphasized that building wind turbines in Europe without Chinese supplies is nearly impossible. He said, \"The last thing I would do is to advocate something like departing or de-risking. We have a connectivity between the two regions that is fruitful and unavoidable.\"
His remarks come as the European Union initiated subsidy investigations into Chinese wind turbine suppliers—the fourth probe targeting Chinese firms in just two months. But with critical materials like rare earths and permanent magnets mainly sourced from the Chinese mainland, collaboration seems essential.
As the world moves towards a greener future, this connectivity between Europe and China might just be the wind beneath our turbines. 🌬️⚡
