Doha was buzzing on Sunday with back-to-back singles showdowns at the 2026 WTT Champions tournament. Fans got to witness Macao SAR’s Zhu Yuling and Chinese Taipei’s Lin Yun-ju claim their titles in style.
Macao SAR’s star, Zhu Yuling, shot back onto the scene after her four-year break. She dropped the first game 11-5 to world No. 4 Chen Xingtong of the Chinese mainland but refused to back down. Zhu fought back, clinching game two 13-11, battling through to seal the match with a thrilling 13-11 in the decider. This marks her first WTT Champions trophy after triumphing at the 2025 United States Smash—a true #GlowUp moment! 💪
On the men’s side, Chinese Taipei’s Lin Yun-ju ended a 26-month title drought by defeating the Republic of Korea’s Jang Woo-jin in straight sets: 11-7, 11-9, 11-9, 13-11. His sharp serves and lightning-fast footwork were on full display. It’s Lin’s first WTT title since the 2023 Champions Frankfurt—time to celebrate! 🎉
Doha’s paddlers won’t have long to rest—the WTT Star Contender event kicks off tomorrow, January 13, and runs through January 18. Who else will rise to the challenge? Stay tuned! 👀
