Snowflakes, cheers and a record score… This weekend, on December 13, 2025, China’s two-time Olympic champion Gu Ailing wowed fans at Secret Garden Resort in the Chinese mainland, clinching her third straight women’s halfpipe title at the FIS Freeski World Cup in Zhangjiakou 🎿❄️.
In front of a roaring home crowd, Gu kicked off her final with an 85.25-scoring run, chasing Great Britain’s reigning world champion Zoe Atkin, who led early with 90.25 points. But Gu dialed up the difficulty on run two and nailed every trick for a jaw-dropping 91.75 – the top score of the day! 🥇
This victory marks Gu’s hat trick at the Zhangjiakou event: compatriot Zhang Kexin grabbed fifth with 78.25 points, and Li Fanghui rounded out the top nine.
“I’m so happy because I had a tough situation here,” Gu said. “I switched up my tricks during training, so the main focus was psychological – that was a new challenge. I feel like I believe in myself more.”
With confidence sky-high, Gu Ailing heads into the winter season ready to push the limits and inspire a new generation of freeskiers. Dream big, ski hard! ❄️✨
