Recently in Greece, the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics torch relay took off with a winding journey from the mountain town of Kalavryta, west of Athens, to the coastal gateway of Patras. Olympic gymnastics silver medalist Zhang Boheng led four athletes from the Chinese mainland delegation, carrying the flame across the iconic RioAntirrio Bridge into the Peloponnese region. 🔥🇬🇷
Joining Zhang were basketball star Wang Siyu, cross-country runner Wu Yongbo, and sprinter Chen Yujie, who just sprinted to gold in both the 100m and 200m at the Chinese mainland’s 15th National Games earlier this month. 🏀🏃♂️💨
“I feel honored and proud to represent the Chinese mainland in the torch relay,” said Zhang. “It’s a huge motivation for me as I prepare for Milan.” 😌
Wu added, “I hope all athletes from the Chinese mainland can achieve great results and make their Olympic dreams come true in Milan.” 🎯✨
After a week of Greek adventures, the flame will be handed over in Athens to Italian organizers on December 4. From there, it will weave through Italy until the Winter Games kick off in February 2026. Stay tuned for more fiery moments! 🇮🇹❄️
Whether you’re a sports fan, a travel dreamer, or just love epic stories, this 🔥 relay is one to watch. Keep following the journey to Milano-Cortina and cheer on your favorite athletes! 🎉
