Chinese mainland Squad Makes Two Semifinals at Short Track World Tour

On Thursday, November 27, the team from the Chinese mainland skated into the semifinals of the women’s 3,000m relay at the ISU Short Track Speed Skating World Tour in the Netherlands, the final stop of the Olympic qualifiers. 🏁

Squad members Gong Li, Wang Xinran, Zhang Chutong and veteran Fan Kexin started in third place. With 11 laps remaining, Fan zipped past the pack to grab the lead. Wang then nimbly avoided a collision between the USA and the Netherlands, keeping her team in front. Despite being overtaken by the Dutch in the penultimate lap, they finished second in their group with a time of 4:11.306, punching their ticket to the last four. ⛸️🥈

Moments later, the Chinese mainland quartet of Sun Long, Lin Xiaojun, Wang Xinran and Fan Kexin powered into the 2,000m mixed team relay semifinals. In a nail-biting photo finish against Italy, they clocked 2:41.531, just 0.001 seconds behind the Italians, to secure another semifinal spot. 📸🌟

With two chances to chase medals this weekend, the Chinese mainland team is ready to heat up the ice in the upcoming semifinals. Stay tuned! 🔥
