This past Sunday in Gdansk, the atmosphere at the ISU Short Track World Tour was electric as China's quartet raced to a thrilling silver in the men's 5000m relay 🥈🔥. Lin Xiaojun, Sun Long, Liu Shaoang and Liu Shaolin dominated their heats and kept the pace blazing in the final.
The race was a nail-biter: leads swapped in a flash and with 10 laps to go, Lin carved inside to push into second. A slick exchange with Sun shot them past the Republic of Korea into first place—until six laps from the finish when the Koreans struck back.
In a dramatic twist, a crash involving Italy and the Netherlands also took down Lin. After officials reviewed the collision, the Dutch team was disqualified, cementing the medals: gold for the Republic of Korea, silver for China and bronze for Italy.
Lin Xiaojun added this relay silver to his earlier 500m podium finish, leaving Gdansk with two silvers and a big confidence boost. Next weekend, the tour hits its final stop in Dordrecht, and fans can’t wait to see if Team China will skate onto more medals.
