World No. 1 Sun Yingsha kicked off her match against Puerto Rico's Adriana Diaz with a booming backhand to lead 10-7. Diaz fought back, snagging the opener 12-10, but Sun quickly found her rhythm, claiming the next four games 11-7, 11-9, 11-9, 11-7 to seal a 4-1 victory and secure her spot in the semifinals. She'll face compatriot Kuai Man in what promises to be an all-star showdown.
Not to be outdone, World No. 2 Wang Manyu delivered a flawless performance against Macao SAR's Zhu Yuling. After a solid 11-7 start, Wang fended off Zhu's brief comeback to take the second game 12-10, then cruised through the next two games 12-10 and 11-3 to complete a 4-0 sweep.
