Blossom Torch Ignites 15th National Games in Shenzhen

In an inspiring ceremony in Shenzhen, the torch dubbed 'Blossom' was unveiled for China's 15th National Games, as well as the 12th National Para Games and the 9th National Special Olympics.

Designed with a spirit of unity and glory, the torch embodies the shared Lingnan cultural heritage of Guangdong Province, Hong Kong SAR, and Macao SAR. Its elegant gold-colored frame and intertwined motifs of the Guangdong kapok, Hong Kong bauhinia, and Macao lotus flowers capture a fusion of tradition and modern innovation 🎉.

Lead designer He Ye explained the design philosophy as 'fusion and glory', highlighting exchange, integration, and shared prosperity. Crafted using high-strength 3D-printed stainless steel and temperature-resistant aluminium alloy, the torch features a streamlined metal frame with a peony patterned base, symbolizing unity and prosperity.

The event also showcased dynamic elements for the National Para Games, including victory ceremony music inspired by the Lingnan melody 'Color Clouds Chasing the Moon', modern podium attire reimagining the traditional mamianqun, and the unveiling of the 'United Warmth' medals.

The 15th National Games, jointly hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong SAR, and Macao SAR, will take place from November 9-21, followed by the National Para Games and the Special Olympics about two weeks later. This celebration of culture and innovation is set to spark excitement among sports fans and cultural enthusiasts alike.
