FA Cup Thrills: Guoan, GZ-Power, Yukun & Hainiu Advance!

What a day for Chinese FA Cup fans! In a rollercoaster match at Dalian Yingbo’s home turf, Beijing Guoan pulled off a stunning comeback. After Cephas Malele gave Dalian an early lead with a penalty, Dawhan's last-minute equalizer sent the game into extra time and then a nail-biting 6-5 penalty shootout win. ⚽🔥

Across the field, Guangdong GZ-Power stunned Tianjin Jinmen Tiger with a crisp 2-0 victory. The match saw early pressure from Tianjin, but a scramble in the second half allowed Ma Junliang to break the deadlock, followed by a sharp-angled strike from a talented Brazilian, sparking excitement among fans.

Meanwhile, Yunnan Yukun showcased resilience in a hard-fought 2-1 win against League One side Shaanxi Union. With goals from Pedro Henrique and Oscar Maritu, Yukun built a comfortable lead before Shaanxi’s Liao Shaowen pulled one back – yet Yukun held strong to advance.

Not to be outdone, Qingdao Hainiu, despite resting several key starters, powered past League Two side Guangxi Hengchen with a 2-1 win. Jin Yonghao and Luo Senwen set the pace with an early two-goal advantage, and even though Guangxi’s Ji Xinlong got on board, Hainiu maintained their edge.

Adding to the excitement, three more round-of-16 matches are scheduled for Sunday – including an electric Shanghai derby between Port and Shenhua. The Chinese FA Cup is proving to be a tournament full of surprises, keeping fans on the edge of their seats! 🚀
